A summer diffuser blend of essential oils can bring a touch of summer’s aromas into your home. Aromatherapy using Special diffuser blends are a perfect way to make your home feel fresh and energized or calm and less stressful anytime of the year. The diffusing process works the same in the summer, just as it does in the fall and winter.
A while back we posted several seasonal diffuser ‘recipes.’ Now, with summer upon us, we thought it time to add some more diffuser recipes to the list.
Better Than a Candle
Some think burning a scented candle is just as good as diffusing essential oils. Unfortunately, research links scented candles to serious health risks. From lung disease to birth defects, scented candles can harm our health. You may already be aware that folks with allergies can have a reaction to the intense scent of a candle or other strong fragrances. Be aware the candle can affect you, even if you don’t light it! Those same offending pollutants become airborne by simple evaporation.
The coughing, sneezing and stuffy, running nose are from the body’s reaction to fragrance in the candle. It’s the body’s defense against germs – your immune system is overreacting to the irritant. So why doesn’t your body react the same when you encounter these aromas in nature? The candle’s scent is a synthetic attempt to reproduce what occurs naturally. The body reacts differently to synthetic and natural stimuli.
So, what can you do to make your home smell great? Diffuse essential oils!
Diffusers are a little like a humidifier in that they both break up cool water particles into the air. However, a humidifier adds moisture to the room. A diffuser breaks down an essential oil into micro molecules and projects them into the air. As the oils break down, they release natural ozone. They also freshen and improve the quality of the air. And because essential oils smell great they add a great aroma to the air!
A diffuser is a safer and healthier way to make a room smell great. It’s safer because you are not releasing pollutants into the air. It’s healthier because many essential oils have properties that can kill airborne bacteria, in addition to smelling great.
Summer Diffuser Blend

By the Campfire
2 drops Cedarwood essential oil
2 drops Sandalwood essential oil
